PMN Database Statistics

The PMN currently hosts two databases - PlantCyc (multi-species) and AraCyc (single species - Arabidopsis thaliana. It will house a growing number of single-species and single-taxon databases in the future and information concerning the content of these databases will be present, or accessible from this site.

PlantCyc 1.0 (June 2008)

At the time of the PlantCyc 1.0 release (June 2008), the following data are present in the database:

  • Total number of pathways (excluding superpathways): 508
    • number of pathways with experimental evidence (EV-EXP): 449
    • number of hypothetical pathways (EV-AS-HYPO): 4
    • number of predicted pathways (EV-COMP): 32
    • number of pathways with enzyme data from multiple species: 151
    • number of pathways with no associated enzymes: 80

  • Total number of reactions: 2277
    • number of reactions associated with enzymes: 1584
    • number of reactions associated with enzymes based on experimental evidence: 1386

  • Total number of enzymes (monomers or proteins complexes catalyzing a reaction): 2954
    • number of enzymes with experimental evidence: 1726

  • Total number of compounds: 2314

  • Total number of organisms: 270
  • Total number of citations: 4208
