The PMN currently hosts two databases - PlantCyc (multi-species) and AraCyc (single species - Arabidopsis thaliana). It will house a growing number of single-species and single-taxon databases in the future.
PlantCyc 1.0 contains 508 pathways (excluding superpathways), 3389 proteins, 2511 genes, 2314 compounds, and over 250 organisms. More information about the ontological classifications of these pathways, compounds, and other items, can be found by using the "Browse Ontology" feature on the PlantCyc query page. (See tutorial) And the database statistics page gives more details about the characteristics of the contents of PlantCyc 1.0.
The PlantCyc 1.0 release was generated with all AraCyc (version 4.5) pathways and additional plant pathways from MetaCyc (version 12.0). We have also manually curated a set of NEW pathways.
In addition, we imported several pathways from the RiceCyc and MedicCyc plant pathway databases.
Please see the AraCyc 4.5 release notes present at TAIR. Previous AraCyc release notes are present in their archive.
